Pride And Prejudice
I read this book in a single day -it was impossible to put down. Elizabeth is an intelligent, likeable heroine. Austen's criticisms of the ridiculous social rules and rigid gender roles of the time are spot-on. And while Mr. Knightly is still the one for me, Mr. Darcy ended up becoming pretty wonderful himself!
